9. You can’t figure out which wine goes best with Chef Boyardee.
8. Your best knife is also a screwdriver, letter opener and pry bar for the stuck kitchen drawer.

4. Chips, salsa and a half pint of ice cream account for only 3 food groups.

And the number one reason you might need a personal chef…..
1.The kids have nicknamed FoodTV “the magic channel.”
If any of these apply to you, it may be time to consider a personal chef. Having someone do your menu planning, shopping, and cooking will leave hours free for other things, like spending time with your family, running your business, or getting to the gym regularly. A personal chef can also make it easier for you to stick to a new diet, or broaden your horizons when it comes to new tastes and ingredients.
How much food do you prepare at one time?
It depends on what service my clients’ request, but the smallest amount I will make at one time is 20 servings. That’s broken down into 5 different meals, 4 servings of each meal. My portions are pretty generous; my families find that their meals stretch to more than 20 servings, most of the time. If I’m feeding teenagers, all bets are off! I also provide a variety of side dishes, so each meal is complete. I find that my customers do not eat my food exclusively, but are happy to pull out a meal or two when their time is short and they don’t have time to cook, or they don’t want to eat take-out or processed foods.
What are the benefits of hiring a personal chef?
When looking at the cost of food shopping, dining out regularly, and ordering take-out, not everyone spends their “dinner dollars” as wisely as they could. I educate my clients to look at the benefits of having me plan meals, shop for them, cook, pack and label the food and provide quick and easy reheating directions. I save my clients time, up to 10 hours per week, since they are no longer standing in grocery store lines at the end of a hectic work day and then rushing home to make dinner. Add to that the health benefit of eating home-cooked, unprocessed food rather than fast food or restaurant portions. And, I plan the entire menu - no one has to stop to ponder “what’s for dinner?” in the middle of the day or on the way home from work.
What’s worse than that sinking feeling we get when we realize there’s no food in the house?
There’s always something to eat in a few minutes after the Queen has been cooking! My clients have also told me that they throw less food away. How often do we buy an ingredient and then end up throwing it away because it went bad before we cooked it? That’s much less likely to happen when meals are prepared and portioned out.
