Hello, my name is Brett Dries, I live in Massachusetts and my clients are mostly in Southeastern Massachusetts, however, I am willing to help in any city or town in Massachusetts.  Not only am I an agent with New York Life Insurance Company, I am also a client.  As a matter of fact, I was a client before I ever considered becoming an agent.  As a client, I am aligned with a company that has the resources to help accumulate and protect my financial portfolio while I am alive, if I become disabled, and when I die.  As an agent, I am able to help solve problems for individuals and businesses in many areas of life insurance, college funding, retirement, tax-smart strategies, employee retention, business succession planning.  I am proud to represent New York Life Insurance Company and enjoy helping my community. 


Why did I become a client of New York Life?


Once my wife became pregnant, I realized that if something happened to me and I was no longer alive, the woman I love with all my heart would be financially insolvent and I needed to protect her and my unborn son financially so I called a couple of local companies that advertise on the radio.  Even though I knew I needed life insurance, I felt uncomfortable with their sales process; so I did not buy.


A few weeks later, while at a baby show at the Bayside Expo Center, my wife and I met Matt, an agent with New York Life.  We had a brief conversation and we invited him to visit us in our home the following week to continue our discussion.  He arrived on time at 7 am, dressed in a business suit and a smile.  We sat down at my kitchen table and discussed everything from where my wife and I were born to what we wanted done with our remains when we die.  At no time did he ask us to write a check.  We discovered not only how much financial risk we had, but what steps needed to be taken to protect our family.  He told us he was going to need a week to create a plan for our situation and would like to visit us again.  We felt very comfortable and invited him back. 


When he returned, he was again on time, in a business suit and wearing a smile.  He showed us a plan that protected our family financially, fit within our budget and would grow with our family.  We felt comfortable throughout the process and we are very happy with our decision to do business with him and New York Life Insurance Company.


Why did I become an agent with New York Life?


As a computer business owner for the previous 15 years and a mortgage officer for nearly 5 years, I realized the market was changing so I considered a career change.  I created a resume and posted it on online.  I received responses from many financial institutions with offices throughout Massachusetts, one of which was New York Life Insurance Company.


I recalled the experience with my agent, who by this time I considered a friend of our family.  I called him.  He told me a Senior Partner with New York Life would call me within ten minutes.  Five minutes later, I received the call that would change my life.  I met with that Senior Partner the following week and began to learn the process of joining the team at New York Life in Massachusetts.  The more I learned about the company and the individuals that represent New York Life Insurance Company, the more I wanted to join and the happier I became as a policyholder.  I am now able to help families the way Matt was able to help mine and I enjoy it immensely.
