“Blindness Separates Us from Things, Hearing Loss Separates Us from People.” Helen Keller
Dr. Deborah Dempesy is a caring and passionate audiologist who is devoted to listening to and helping her patients. Dr. Dempesy herself has hearing loss due to Meniere’s disease and has worn hearing devices for the past 15 years. She knows first hand what it is like to be “separated” from loved ones and friends as Helen Keller so wisely said.
In November 2008, Dr. Deborah Dempesy acquired All Ears Hearing Center from Dr. Mary Cody who retired. “I’m excited and eager to continue the commitment to compassionate care to those with hearing loss,” states Dr. Dempesy. Located at 59 Industrial Park Rd. in Plymouth, All Ears Hearing Center is easily accessible from Rt. 3.
All Ears Hearing Center is nearly 25 years old, has remained in the Plymouth area, and provides excellent care to those with hearing loss. Staying on staff at All Ears Hearing Center is Eileen Roussos, our wonderful office manager and hearing aid technician. She can help you with hearing aid emergencies. In addition, the highly respected and experienced audiologist, Dr. Ken Bozeman will remain on staff.
Dr. Dempesy has 26 years of clinical, research and training expertise in the field of audiology and hearing health care. Her perspective as a hearing impaired audiologist brings a unique empathic approach to her career and her work. Dr. Dempesy is personally aware of the minor and major frustrations, limitations and struggles in social and work situations that hearing loss can create.
Fortunately, hearing devices have significantly improved in even the past one to two years. Newer technology allows the person with hearing loss to hear even better in background noise, restaurants, and family gatherings. The newest hearing devices actually communicate to each other, allowing for sophisticated processing of speech in our everyday situations. And, they now are connected to other devices by Bluetooth technology such as IPods, MP3 players, telephones, TV and more. “It’s the addition of Bluetooth technology that has allowed the hearing impaired greater and easier access to telephones and TV listening that has been incredible,” states Dr. Dempesy.
