By Marc Adams, D.O.
There are two types of complete physicians - M.D. (allopathic physician) and D.O. (osteopathic physician).
Both have completed medical school and specialty training, and are fully licensed to perform surgery and prescribe medication. Osteopaths undergo additional training in the musculoskeletal system to learn how to use their hands to diagnose illness, and to encourage the body’s natural tendency toward good health. Gentle osteopathic techniques such as Craniosacral can complement and sometimes replace medications or surgery adding an important dimension to your medical care.
