Call us at (508)732-6790As dance instructors, whenever we meet someone new, we usually hear one of two things: “You teach dance? Ha! You should know that I really can’t dance,” or “I’d love to learn how to dance, but I don’t have a partner.”
As dance instructors, whenever we meet someone new, we usually hear one of two things: “You teach dance? Ha! You should know that I really can’t dance,” or “I’d love to learn how to dance, but I don’t have a partner.”
The above statements are misconceptions. If you already knew how to dance, then we would be out of a job, and you absolutely do not need a partner to learn how to dance!
Even if you think you have two left feet and no rhythm, you can learn to look and feel comfortable on the social dance floor. Our instructors are skilled in working with people of all levels and abilities, and we can get you up and moving on your very first lesson.
And, you can take lessons with or without a partner. Sometimes it is even better to learn on your own so that you can spend 100% of your lesson working on you.
What Can I Learn?
At a Fred Astaire Dance Studio, you can learn any dance that you may use at a party, nightclub, wedding, or other social event… from the foxtrot, waltz, and tango, to the faster beats of the swing and salsa -- and everything in between!
What Do I Wear?
Dress comfortably and avoid restrictive clothing (such as a long tight skirt). Avoid shoes that may slip off easily while dancing (such as mules or flip-flops) as well as sneakers - they tend to stick to the floor.
How Do I Get Started?
We offer a two-lesson Introductory Course that will introduce you to our studio, the styles of dance we teach, and our unique teaching methods. After this course, if you decide dancing is not for you, there is absolutely no obligation to continue.
You’ll never know how easy learning to dance can be unless you walk into our studio and dance out! Call us at (508)732-6790 or visit FredAstaire.com/plymouth for more information.
