As patients, we expect gentle quality care with kindness and respect. When you are searching for a new dentist there are some aspects of a dental practice that bring it to a higher level of care. Here are some questions you should ask before making your first appointment.
Does the dentist offer comprehensive programs to treat and maintain all aspects of your oral health including soft tissue management programs and periodontal health? Do they regularly do oral cancer screenings and oral medicine screenings?
Does the practice employ dedicated sterilization procedures that encompass all criteria mandated today for your personal safety?
Does the dentist demonstrate the ability to critically assess and incorporate new advances for procedures, as well as review long term studies to prove that methods used in treatment are going to be successful and beneficial?
Is continuous care provided by the same clinicians every time you come into the office for your appointments and do they provide the necessary time to learn all of your needs and your oral health history? Time spent with patients is very important and building a personal relationship with a consistent dental provider is essential to your long term well being.
