A New Spin on Fashion

Creative Services

By Sue Carchidi

What’s a personal wardrobe consultant?

It’s a fashion stylist who evaluates your current wardrobe and helps you to unearth your individual style by combining key pieces in new ways.

Why should I hire a wardrobe consultant? Can’t I do this on my own or with friends?

You can talk about fashion with your friends, but you come to a point where you need input from someone with expertise in fabric, fit, color, style, etc.

What’s involved once I book an appointment?

In my initial consultation (1.5 hours), we discuss your budget, body, lifestyle, and current wardrobe. The $65 fee is applied to the total cost of services if you move forward with a wardrobe resuscitation.

In our follow-up meeting (3 - 5 hours, depending on wardrobe extensiveness), I review your entire wardrobe. We decide which pieces work and which do not. We separate items into a “keep” pile (items we will work with), “alteration” pile (pieces we can reinvent by repairing or tailoring) and “donation” pile (packed up and taken away by me).

I’ll then send you a customized shopping guide telling how and where to shop for wardrobe staples that fit your style, body, and budget. The cost for all of this is $320 (including the initial $65 fee).  That’s less than one bad shopping spree!

Does The Style Clinic offer additional services?

I do personal shopping - either with you (where I’ll educate you) or without you. I also assist with “special occasion” shopping/consulting. I offer instructions on how to organize, care for, and store your wardrobe properly. For all additional services, I charge an hourly fee (two-hour minimum). Gift certificates are available.
