His company, Horticultural Creations, is available for the do-it-yourselfer, homeowner and contractor and does consulting in Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Design.People ask Tim many questions like, “What can I do to help my grass…it’s brown, crunchy and has lots of weeds?” In the heat of summer, grass can become, well, brown, crunchy and have lots of weeds. Tim Ramey, owner of Horticultural Creations, has the knowledge and experience to prevent or restore the springtime look and feel of a lush green lawn.
Tim states, “I would start with a turf diagnosis. With a diagnostic consultation, I will assess the area, possibly take a soil sample, determine insects and disease problems, and evaluate environmental stresses. I will ask the homeowner about land use, watering/irrigation, chemicals used, and if they feed they lawn. Then, I will suggest how to start a new lawn, either by seed or sod, or repair an existing one, and the best time to do it.” Tim goes on, “Many issues affect a lawn’s decline. Some issues can be prevented and controlled without the use of harsh chemicals. Sometimes, however, green methods aren’t enough. Fungicides, insecticides or herbicides may be necessary.”
From installing a new lawn to repairing damaged areas, it's worth it to hire an expert for advice. Whether you are an amateur or advanced gardener, or prefer to have it all done for you, Tim can provide every service - from a design you can execute at your own pace and budget to entire project management from start to finish. His horticultural knowledge and experience will help you decide what you can do yourself or have done for you.
