Chiropractic Care and Laser Therapy

Health & Wellness

By Jamie L. Valcourt, D.C.

How can chiropractic care help?

Chiropractic care can help keep the joints properly aligned, thereby eliminating uneven stress on the joints of the low back, hips, knees, shoulders, etc.  Properly aligned joints are under less stress and therefore function more efficiently.  Chiropractic adjustments can help restore the lost range of motion of the joints which will help improve flexibility, strength, and endurance.  All of this can be accomplished while also lessening joint pain which can be caused by problems such as osteoarthritis.  Of course, there are limitations to any form of treatment.  Different forms and stages of injury respond to chiropractic care differently.  Only a chiropractor can determine how beneficial chiropractic adjustments can be for your individual needs.

What is IR laser Therapy?

Low-level, or IR (infra red) laser therapy is a safe and non-invasive form of pain relief.  IR laser therapy works by shining a source of infra-red light at the pain source. In my practice, laser therapy has worked wonders for the arthritis sufferers and patients with spinal disc herniations.

The IR light helps to work on a cellular level to speed up the healing process of your cells and tissues.  Low level laser therapy can be used in any number of conditions from joint pain to skin conditions.  Studies have shown healing times to be cut by 40% or more, and some studies have shown reductions of pain by 80% or more with laser therapy compared to patients under traditional pain therapy such as NSAIDS (pain killers).  Call today for your free consultation.
