The South Coastal Career Centers of Plymouth and Quincy, conveniently located at 36 Cordage Park Circle in Plymouth, and at 152 Parkingway in Quincy, provides an array of workforce development services, free of charge, to both employers and jobseekers.  The Plymouth and Quincy Career Centers service the geographic area of twenty-two cities and towns that comprise the south coastal region: Quincy, Hull, Cohasset, Milton, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Scituate, Norwell, Randolph, Holbrook, Hanover, Rockland, Marshfield, Pembroke, Duxbury, Halifax, Kingston, Plympton, Middleborough, Carver, and Plymouth.  The Plymouth and Quincy Career Centers are part of the state-wide network of thirty-seven One-Stop Career Centers in Massachusetts.

The Plymouth Career Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and Wednesday from 9:30AM to 4:30PM. The Quincy Career Center is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and Tuesday from 9:30AM to 4:30PM.  A dedicated staff of professionals is ready to assist customers with a wide range of offerings. Regardless of whether a customer is unemployed or underemployed, each staff member at the Career Center stands ready to help jobseekers get back on the road to re-employment, or to guide them through the process of upgrading their skills, thereby positioning them to be more competitive in today’s job market.  Veterans are welcome to come into the Career Center to meet with a designated Veteran’s Representative who will be happy to explain how they can take advantage of the services available to them.

Some of the many services available to jobseekers include job search assistance, career counseling, resume development and critique, federally-funded training for eligible customers, unemployment assistance, interactive workshops, and referrals to any number of state and local resources that can be instrumental to those who find themselves in the unenviable position of being between careers.   A fully functional Resource Room is available at both Centers where self-directed customers can utilize computers to gain access to a variety of software programs, as well as Internet access for job-search activities.  There are also copiers, telephones, fax machines, and printed materials available for customer use.

Businesses are strongly encouraged to take advantage of what the Plymouth and Quincy Career Centers have to offer.  In addition to being able to post jobs, employers have access to a team of knowledgeable Business Services Representatives, who not only understand what it takes to successfully navigate the intricacies of the economic environment, but specialize in fulfilling the workforce development needs of the business customer.

Our Business Service Representatives can assist any business customer, regardless of its size, industry, or product line.  As a cohesive team, they specialize in acting as conduits in connecting employers with competent individuals who have the required skills that are necessary to contribute to the success of a business.  One method that is used to accomplish this is through well-attended Job Fairs and recruitments that are held monthly at the Career Centers, as well as through an annual, regional Job Fair that is conducted at a larger venue.

The business community will find that the Business Service Representatives are very effective in many capacities including presentations and information sessions that are geared specifically for the employer customer where they can hear directly from experts on a vast array of topics, including current Labor Law, Criminal Offender Record Information, Tax Credit Programs, and many other initiatives that are available through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Business Service Representatives work closely with the Massachusetts Office of Business Development which continues to be an excellent resource for information about economic development initiatives and trends in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts One-Stop Career Center system used to be one of the State’s best kept secrets.   That designation, however, is steadily becoming obsolete as more individuals and businesses discover the value of what it offers to the citizens and the business community in the Commonwealth.  The Plymouth and Quincy Career Centers are proud to be part of a collaborative effort to achieve economic growth and stability in the south coastal region.
