Dr. Julie A. Johnson is currently the Director of The Plymouth Center for Behavioral Health, LLC. She specializes in sexual dysfunction, depression, and couples therapy. For the past five years, she has also worked at Center for Sexual Medicine and has a faculty position at Boston University School of Medicine. She has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. She is a member of AASECT and the American Psychological Association. |

What are the reasons people who need mental health treatment do not seek mental health treatment? Believe it or not, there is still a huge stigma when it comes to accessing mental health. Many people feel ashamed that they feel depressed or anxious. People feel that they somehow have control over their feelings and they shouldn’t need a “stranger” to help them cope with difficulties.
